Victoria Racing Club has announced that their premier Autumn Group 1 weight-for-age sprint, the Lightning Stakes, will be renamed the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes.
The champion mare has won 5 Group 1 races at Flemington including back to back Lightning Stakes victory. She could contest the race named in her honour in February 2013 in what could be her last campaign.
