Sky Sports Radio has reported that Red Cadeaux, last year’s Melbourne Cup runner up, will arrive in Melbourne on Saturday. Trainer Ed Dunlop said, ‘Red Cadeaux is a year older and gets more weight in the Melbourne Cup but he’s an improved horse this year’.
Dunlop has yet to confirm a jockey on Red Cadeaux for the Melbourne Cup.
Meanwhile, Luca Cumani’s Cox Plate hope, Afsare, has suffered an injury and will not run in the Cox Plate.
