Suspensions After A Rough And Tough Melbourne Cup

Three jockeys were suspended in the aftermath of a rough Melbourne Cup yesterday. Kiwi whiz James McDonald who rode the Waterhouse trained Fiorente into second place in the Cup was suspended for 14 meetings for causing interference to Sanagas around the 800m mark.

Premier Melbourne jockey Luke Nolen got a 12 meeting suspension for causing interference on board Lights of Heaven. And Rhys McLeod who’s mount, Ethiopia, finished last in the Cup also got a 12 meeting suspension.
