Gai Waterhouse is so determined to win her first Melbourne Cup that she has acquired another UK stayer to her stable. Fiorente won the Group 2 Prince of Wales’ Goldsmith Stakes (2414m) in July this year under the care of Sir Michael Stoute. Fiorente is expected to arrive in Australia on 20th October and will go straight into the Melbourne Cup where he has been weighted on 53.5kg.
