Winners For 2022 Lord Mayors Cup Day

The Lord Mayors Cup meeting will be held at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday. The course proper was rated a Heavy 8 on Thursday and with showers forecast for Saturday, Rosehill is likely to race on a Heavy track on raceday.

Dynasties looks the horse they have to beat in the Fujitsu General Handicap (Sydney Race 6, 1800m). The Sebring filly has really hit form this campaign with a good first-up 3rd to Espiona in the James Carr Stakes before she took out the Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) last start. The 3YO has good wet track records and staying at 1800m seems ideal. Tommy Berry will let the filly to find her feet and sit behind mid-field. Given her class, Dynasties is going to run over the top of this field.

Chad Schofield and Chris Waller had combined with Aleas when they took out the Wagga Wagga Gold Cup and they can repeat the winning effort by taking out the Lord Mayors Cup on Saturday (Sydney Race 7, 2000m).  Aided by a good Schofield ride, the 4YO gelding took out the Wagga Wagga Gold Cup last start over Saturday’s distance. Aleas can handle any track conditions and has drawn beautifully in barrier 3. With reasonable pace in the race, Schofield will be able to get a cozy run mid-field along the fence which will allow Aleas to hit the line strongly.
