Winners For 2023 Bob Charley AO Stakes Day

The Bob Charley AO Stakes meeting will be held at Royal Randwick this Saturday (10th Jun). The course proper was rated a Soft 5 on Thursday and with light showers in Sydney over the next couple of days, Rosehill will border on Good/Soft condition on raceday.

Debut winner Ozzmosis could make it two wins from two starts by taking out the opening event at Randwick (Sydney Race 1, 1100m). The Zoustar colt showed a good turn-of-foot at Gosford over 1100m and the 2YO is fitter second-up on Saturday. With Dylan Gibbons’ 1.5kg claim, Ozzmosis will be carrying a winning weight of 55.5kg. From barrier 6, Gibbons will go forward and sit outside likely leader La Boqueria and Ozzmosis is the one they have to beat.

Flying filly Passeggiata could simply be too fast for the Furphy Handicap field (Sydney Race 6, 1000m). This Bjorn Baker-trained speedster has won two of her three career starts and she can handle any track conditions. The 3YO has come back a more mature filly and is resuming on the back of two 9 length trial wins. Dylan Gibbons will go straight to the lead and together with her light weight (53kg), Passeggiata is going to run them ragged.

The Ryan-Alexiou stable has been on fire and they have Conscript primed to take out the Bob Charley AO Stakes (Sydney Race 8, 1100m). The 5YO gelding has come back in terrific order this campaign finishing 2nd to Astero first-up before taking out the At Sea Stakes two weeks ago. 1100m is his pet distance with five wins and three 3rd place finishes at the trip and he loves Randwick having never missed a place from three starts. Reece Jones will settle just behind the leading bunch with a good run and Conscript will be rocketing home.
