Winners For 2024 ATC Member Appreciation Day

ATC Member Appreciation Day will be held at Royal Randwick this Saturday (6th Jul). The course proper was rated a Heavy 8 on Thursday and with showers in Sydney leading up to the weekend, Randwick will be racing on a Heavy track on raceday.

The very impressive Lady Boss can continue her winning way at Randwick (Sydney Race 1, 1300m). This 3YO filly is a winner having won three times from four career starts and she has good record on Soft and Heavy tracks. Lady Boss won easily first-up at Canterbury on a Heavy 8 track and she did lead all the way to win by a nose second up last preparation. And she loves the 1300m with two wins and a 3rd from three starts at the trip. Jason Collett will sit just behind the leaders in transit and Lady Boss will be ready to pounce rounding the home turn.

Zac Lloyd is going to continue his fine form by taking out the Task Handicap with Kapakiri (Sydney Race 5, 2000m). This Waller-trained gelding has slowly worked his way up in distance and the 2000m on Saturday will suit. The 4YO likes Randwick and he handles any track conditions. In a race without a lot of pace, Lloyd will go forward and settle outside Gulf Of Mexico and Kapakiri is the one they have to catch.

Top weight Tamerlane is the highest rated horse and he is going to show his class in the Winter Stakes (Sydney Race 8, 1400m). This Godolphin-owned gelding lost ground in the run home when 8th last start at Warwick Farm but expect him to improve on Saturday. Tamerlane will be fitter third-up and back to Randwick will also suit as he has a good record at that venue. The 6YO has good Soft track form and 1400m is his pet distance with five wins and five placings from fifteen starts at the trip. Zac Lloyd will be positive with the good gate (2) and box seat behind likely leader Iknowastar and Tamerlane will be challenging strongly down the Randwick straight.
