Alligator Blood To Return To Melbourne For Spring

Alligator Blood is set to make waves this spring as he aims to add more victories to his already illustrious career.

Under the guidance of trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, the seven-year-old gelding has clinched four Group 1 triumphs, three of which were achieved in Melbourne this season.

The plan for Alligator Blood centers around a Melbourne campaign, with the prestigious Cox Plate and Champions Mile as the primary targets.

The gelding finished a respectable fifth in the Cox Plate last year, and Bott believes that with prior experience over 2000 meters, the horse will shine even brighter this time.

If all goes to plan the campaign is likely to begin with the Memsie Stakes, followed by the Makybe Diva Stakes and the Turnbull Stakes, leading up to the highly anticipated Cox Plate.

Afterward, Alligator Blood will look to replicate his success from last year by dropping back to the mile for the Champions Mile on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
