Unbeaten super-filly Atlantic Jewel will begin a Spring preparation at the end of this month.
Trainer Mark Kavanagh this afternoon revealed to Racing Network she would start a Spring campaign within three weeks.
“Her Spring campaign will begin at the end of May,” was the simple and matter-of-fact comment from Kavanagh to RN.
Unbeaten in seven starts, Atlantic Jewel hasn’t been seen on a racetrack since winning the Group 1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick on April 28 last year.
Before that she won the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes, the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes and the Group 1 Thousand Guineas – by an ever-widening three lengths.
Since winning the All Aged Stakes, Kavanagh has been trying to fix an injured tendon in her nearside foreleg and he has never said she will get back to the racetrack.
Never one to say a lot, today he gave the first positive lead that he was making Spring plans for Atlantic Jewel – a truly freakish talent.
