Bel Sprinter To Take On Black Caviar

Trainer Jason Warren has confirmed that Group 1 The Galaxy winner Bel Sprinter’s next start would be against champion mare Black Caviar in the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on 13 April.

Bel Sprinter blitzed The Galaxy field, beating last start record breaking filly Snitzerland by three lengths.

“The horse has pulled up super,” Warren said.

“He ate well overnight and he is nice and bright this morning, he’s been out for a roll and a pick so he’s ready to go.”

Though it’s an ominous task to tackle Black Caviar, Warren said running a place behind the undefeated superstar would rank as a career highlight.

All goes well, Warren plans to take Bel Sprinter overseas for Singapore’s $1 million Krisflyer International Sprint (1200m) on 19 May.
