Broo Boss Makes A Challenge For Picnic Champion Series

The Forbes-trained Broo Boss has moved into contention for the 2023 NSW Picnic Champion Series Final after proving too strong in the Tullibigeal Picnic Cup (1600m) last Saturday.

Broo Boss ($4.20), ridden by Tamsin Gough, scored by just under two lengths from the favourite Valadyium (Leandro Ribeiro, $2.50).

Merdeka (Breanna Bourke, $5) was a couple of lengths further back in third place.

Broo Boss picked up 10 points for the win giving him a total of 12 points for the Series.

Valadyium received seven points for her second placing and she now moves into second spot on the Series ladder with 21 points behind Inzaghi (26pts).

A week earlier Valadyium (Leandro Ribeiro, $3) had taken out the Ardlethan Picnic Cup (1600m) defeating Inzaghi (Breanna Bourke, $4.60) by half a length.

The next meeting of the NSW Picnic Champion Series will be at Tomingley this Saturday (1st April).
