Trainer and horse to prove themselves as tough competitors.
Despite both Rick Worthington and his star of the stable Whitefriars both undergoing their own health battles both are looking to team up together on Saturday when Whitefriars resumes in the listed Razor Sharp Handicap over 1200m at Warwick Farm Saturday.
Despite being recently diagnosed and having surgery on a dangerous melanoma Worthington has kept an extremely close eye on his favourite horse and is confident he has made a full recovery from a bad case of pneumonia that left him on the sidelines since he won the Australia Stakes in January 2011.
“He’s in good shape and having had two years off whatever he does first up he will improve on and hopefully all going well he will run in the Australia Day Stakes at Mooney Valley on the 26th of January” remarked Worthington.
