Get Treated To Real Gourmet At Yass Picnic Races (Saturday, 24th Feb)

Yass picnics is one of the oldest picnic race clubs in NSW and this Saturday (24th February) they will be celebrating their 123rd annual race meeting.

Established in 1901, Yass picnic races are held at Marchmont Racecourse located just 6km south of Yass. But don’t worry about getting there from Yass as the club has buses available.

”We’re looking forward to a fantastic day,” said Hugh Rainger, president of Yass Picnic Race Club.

“Get your friends and family together for a great afternoon with a kids’ jumping castle, ice cream, Rotary BBQ, food and barista coffee and plenty of horses!”

The Club is providing various raceday experiences starting with the top-of-the-line Marchmont Marquee: “This will be a fantastic area with excellent catering and a premium position on the racecourse adjacent to the track,” Mr Rainger said.

“There patrons can catch all the action and enjoy the excitement that a day at the races provides.

“The marquee ticket includes course admission and racebook, exclusive access to the Marchmont Marquee with a gourmet luncheon – and I mean GOURMET – including beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks throughout the day. It is a private fenced off area with outdoor seating and umbrellas.

“Interest in the day is high and the place looks a picture after the great season we’ve had – now we just need to get people through the gate!

“Being picnic races many come and set up their own marquee/tent, lay a picnic blanket down, eat, drink and punt and enjoy the afternoon away.”
