Group One-winning jockeys Hugh Bowman and Blake Shinn will be making a special trip to Towac Park, Orange on Friday 23 November for one of Racing Orange’s feature racedays, the Tilstons BEC and Kents H Hardware’s Tradies Day.
In what is a major achievement for Racing Orange, Hugh and Blake will add to what is already shaping up to be a big day out for patrons attending Tradies Day.
“Racing Orange is honoured to be able to attract Hugh Bowman and Blake Shinn to Towac Park. We hope the community in and around Orange take the opportunity to come out for Tradies Day and witness first hand a very rare view of leading Group One jockeys on our home track,” said Ellie Brown, Racing Orange’s Chair.
Former Central Districts apprentice Hugh Bowman will be returning to Towac Park after almost 13 years and is hoping the weather this time allows him to make the trip.
“You could say this is take two for me in my attempt to come up for Tradies Day with bad weather playing its hand last year,” Bowman said.
“I am a country boy at heart and know how hard Country clubs have it these days. So I am only too happy to assist the club whether it is through turnover or adding a few numbers through the gate.
“I am looking forward to heading up to Orange and assisting the club out. It is great to see the club and their sponsors looking to increase their exposure and we can’t wait to get up there and meet the team.”
Gates open at 12:30pm with the first race scheduled for 1:18pm.
