Hawkesbury Race Club has changed the date of the $150,000 Group 3-Panthers Hawkesbury Gold Cup (1600m) to set-up a procession of three big NSW provincial cups.
The Hawkesbury Gold Cup was formerly run on Oaks day in November but the directors of HRC voted to move the race onto their program on August 22. The race is now placed to act as a lead-up to the Group I-Epsom Handicap as well as a stepping stone to the $150,000 Listed-Wyong Gold Cup (2100m) on September 6 and the $200,000 Group 3-Newcastle Cup (2300m) on September 19.
