It’s A Dundeel Targets Three-Year-Old Triple Crown

Over 3500 racegoers enjoyed the sunshine and eight Black Type races on Saturday at Warwick Farm racecourse for Hyland Race Colours Royal Randwick Guineas Day.

The traditional Royal Randwick meeting took place at the Club’s Western Sydney venue while racing Headquarters continues with its $150m redevelopment.

FEATURE RACE RESULT

Murray Baker-trained It’s A Dundeel (James McDonald) has taken out the Group 1 $500,000 Hyland Race Colours Royal Randwick Guineas over race favourite Proisir (Hugh Bowman) and locally trained Tatra (Kerrin McEvoy) from the Peter Snowden stable.

The son of High Chapparel who took his first steps toward capturing Sydney’s three-year-old Triple Crown with a decisive win in the Group 1 feature, will now target the Group 1 $500,000 M.J Bale Rosehill Guineas at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 30 March.

Saturday’s win was the second Group 1 victory for the New Zealand raider who also took out the Group 1 $400,000 Chandon Spring Champion Stakes at Royal Randwick last October.
