The Australian Turf Club has received two late entries for this Saturday’s Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes.
New Zealand filly Ruud Awakening and Melbourne colt Il Cavallo have both paid the $150,000 late entry fee to run in the world’s richest 2YO race.
Ruud Awakening has won 5 from 6 New Zealand starts and has been heavily supported by the big punters to win the Slipper with most major betting agencies after her late entry was confirmed with Craig Williams as her rider. She has firmed from $21 to $11.
Peter Moody-trained Il Cavallo has won his only start impressively and has been installed as a $16 chance but he may not get a start due to his low position on the order of entry.
Meanwhile, connections of Auckland Cup winner Sangster has paid the $60,000 late entry fee for the $2.25 million The BMW (2400m), to be run this Saturday.
