Lee Freedman To Join Macedon Lodge

Hall of Fame trainer Lee Freedman is set to join Lloyd Williams team as Director of Racing and Training.

Lee Freedman is thrilled to join Lloyd Williams team saying its the most successful operation in Australia, without doubt and he can’t wait to start working for Macedon Lodge.

Lloyd Williams says he’s delighted to get the quality of Lee Freedman into his stable and is looking forward to a successful partnership.

Freedman stood down as head trainer of the family’s Markdel stable in Victoria in 2011, citing a break was needed from the pressure of training.

He then entered into a surprise partnership with Graeme Rogerson last April. He had been running their stable at Randwick while Rogerson had been based in New Zealand. However that partnership broke up last December.

Lee Freedman will help mentor many of the younger staff at Macedon Lodge. Williams says Freedman is a hall of famer with great qualities. Robert Hickmott will continue as head trainer.
