Racing Victoria Chief Executive, Bernard Saundry, has welcomed today’s news that Dr Denis Napthine will continue in his role as the state’s Minister for Racing.
Dr Napthine, who replaced Ted Baillieu as the Premier of Victoria last week, today announced his new look Cabinet to guide the Coalition Government through its current term.
Dr Napthine has retained two of his portfolios, Racing and Regional Cities, whilst he’s handed the Ports and Major Projects portfolios to David Hodgett as part of the Cabinet reshuffle.
“We’re very pleased to hear that Denis has decided to balance his duties as Premier of the State with those as the Minister for Racing,” Saundry said.
“Denis is a passionate racing fan who shares our vision to ensure that Victoria is home to a successful and vibrant thoroughbred racing industry.
“We look forward to working closely with Denis and the Coalition Government in the future to promote continued growth, investment and jobs in the industry.”
