Racing Victoria (RV) today announced four race meeting amendments occurring between Horsham and Ararat and from Ballarat to Cranbourne and Werribee.
In consultation with Horsham and District Racing Club and Ararat Turf Club, meetings will be swapped from Horsham to Ararat on Sunday, 17 March and from Ararat to Horsham on Monday, 13 May.
The race amendments come at the request of Horsham owing to a shortage of water at the track.
Ballarat Turf Club will transfer two of its July meetings to Cranbourne Turf Club (Thursday, 4 July) and Werribee Racing Club (Wednesday, 17 July).
RV has made this decision in consultation with Ballarat to reduce the volume of meetings during the winter period and ensure the track is at its optimum for the Turf Club’s feature meetings during the Spring Racing Carnival.
The amendments do not represent a meeting loss for Ballarat which picked up additional, transferred meetings from Geelong Racing Club over the summer period.
Race venue amendments:
Sunday, 17 March – Horsham to Ararat
Monday, 13 May – Ararat to Horsham
Thursday, 4 July – Ballarat to Cranbourne
Wednesday, 17 July – Ballarat to Werribee
