Randwick Track Manager Navesh Rhamdani is expecting a heavy track at Randwick on Saturday.
“We had 30mls overnight and I inspected the track at 9 o’clock this morning and it was a slow 6, but we’ve had a deluge since, probably another 20mls, and we’d be in the heavy range now,” Rhamdani said this afternoon.
“The forecast is not good either, they are tipping more rain this afternoon and again tomorrow,” he added.
The forecast for late Friday and Saturday is mainly fine and Rhamdani is hopeful the track will get a period to dry out.
“With a bit of luck we could get back to a slow track, but that is probably wishful thinking with all this rain,” he said.
