The Cups King Bart Cummings has sold his fame Flemington stables – Saintly Lodge.
Cummings’ son Anthony confirmed on Tuesday that the property has been sold
“Yes, it has been sold but there’s a long settlement on it so he’ll be there a while yet,” Cummings told RN.
He also said his father’s health was good, but couldn’t confirm if the property had been on the market for a short or long time.
“To be honest I don’t know.
“He doesn’t tell me much of what he’s doing,” Cummings laughed.
Saintly Lodge is situated right behind the main grandstand at Flemington, just a 200-metre walk to the racecourse. Cummings’ long time right-hand man, Reg Fleming, has been managing Saintly Lodge while Bart stationed himself in Sydney. Saintly Lodge has been the home of many champion racehorses over the years, including Ming Dynasty, Let’s Elope and of course Saintly, and in recent years dual Cox Plate winner, So You Think.
