Saturday Winners Kuroshio And Guelph Could Go Different Path

Last Saturday’s Blue Diamond Prelude winners Kuroshio (colts & geldings division) and Guelph (fillies division) could go different path after their victories on the weekend.

Both juveniles are trained by Peter Snowden, who has indicated that Guelph, Montsegur and Metastasio will run in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on February 23. However, Snowden is leaning towards sending Kuroshio to Sydney in preparation for the Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m).

Guelph ($2.25 fav) wasn’t entirely comfortable in her Caulfield debut, but she still put away stablemate Montsegur without fuss, scoring untouched by 1-1/2 lengths.

The win prompted bookmakers to promote Guelph to a position from which she is expected to challenge long-time Blue Diamond market leader Miracles Of Life for favouritism.
