Trainer Chris Waller has booked Jim Cassidy for the mount on Sacred Falls in Saturday’s $200,000 Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.
Leith Innes, regular rider for the former NZ-trained Group 1 winner, has incurred two careless riding suspensions and stewards have not granted him stay of proceedings.
Sacred Falls suffered his first defeat in seven starts when he finished fifth as favourite to the unbeaten colt Rebel Dane in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m).
The two colts will clash again in Saturday’s Group 2 race but they both face their biggest obstacle in Pierro as the champion 3YO has been confirmed as a starter in the Hobartville Stakes.
