Winners For The Rosehill Meeting 24-11-2012

This Saturday’s racing will be held at Rosehill and Mooney Valley. The Rosehill track was rated a Good 3 on Thursday and with fine weather forecast, the track should remain in the Good range.

The Mooney Valley track was rated a Dead 4 on Thursday and with overcast weather in Melbourne, the track should remain in the Dead range on race day.

The opening race in Sydney (Sydney Race 1, 1100m), the Waterhouse trained Not A Single Doubt filly ‘Certitube’ looks the good. On 5th November, she had won a 836m trial at Randwick by 4 lengths in good time. The Anthony Cummings trained Crazyonyou won a trial impressively at Randwick on 19th November. But I think over 1100m, Certitube could be a touch nippy for Crazyonyou.

In the Ascend Sales Trophies (Sydney Race 3, 2000m) apprentice Jenny Duggan has a very successful association with the Bjorn Baker trained Cantonese. Duggan won four times on Cantonese in the last 5 starts. From barrier 1, Cantonese should go towards the lead pretty easily and with only 52.5kg after Duggan’s claim, the five year old gelding looks a good bet. The class runner in the race is the top weight Moriarty. He has won 3 of the last 4 starts, and he ran a good 2nd last week at Rosehill after a 4 week break. The quick back up is a good sign that the horse is doing well. However Moriarty has to give 4.5kg and a start to Cantonese. Currently at $4.80 fixed odds, Cantonese is my pick.

In the get out race (Sydney Race 8, 1100m), David Van Dyke trained Choice Words should get the best run in the race according to my speed map. Choice Words is resuming from a spell and from barrier 5, Blake Spriggs should settle her around 5th one off the fence and get a nice trail behind good pace. She has good fresh record winning 1st up last preparation. And she has won 2 trials in preparation for this race. Choice Words should help punters finishing the day off in a winning way.
