Summary Of Our Trainers’ Tips For Today’s Racing At Rosehill (Sat, 11th Jul)

From Jarrod Austin

Horse: Inanup
Message
: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 8, Iron Jack Hcp) Inanup chased home smart mare Adelong when he returned four weeks ago. Barrier 4 on Saturday will be a huge advantage for the six-year-old who has posted a second-up win at his past two preparations. He’s quite versatile, he’s gone back in his last four or five starts but mainly because he hasn’t drawn a barrier. He can race a bit handier than he has been but when I saw all that speed in the race I thought it falls right into his hands. I thought his first-up run was pretty good, he just got beaten by a smart one on the day, and he’s come through it quite well. I’ll leave it up to Nash (Rawiller) but we won’t have to be going back to last and from that barrier you’d think we would be that length or two closer in the run.

Horse: Frosty Rocks
Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 4, Bowermans Commercial Furniture Hcp) The three-year-old is his most effective when he leads, as he’s done in both victories this time in including an eight length rout two runs back. I think he probably is better let run, he’s a little bit hard to catch. On his day he is brilliant but he can be a bit of an enigma so hopefully he can run a nice race. The 1500m is a bit of a question mark so I think we won’t change too much with him. The better the track the more of a chance he’s got, I do think he is better on top of the ground.

Horse: Night of Power
Message: (Saturday, , Rosehill Race 6, TAB Long May We Play Hcp) The key to Night Of Power is getting him to settle and also hopes an improving track will be more to his liking as well. His first-up run was really good but last time he was disappointing, there’s no hiding around that. His trackwork has been outstanding and on that alone you’d say he has to be a massive chance. So I am hopeful from a good gate he can have a soft run and just switch off a little more.

Horse: Edison
Message: (Saturday, , Rosehill Race 6, TAB Long May We Play Hcp) Edison was good last week, once again the better the track the more chance he has. He got away with it last week but he is better on top of the ground.

Horse: Prime Candidate
Message: (SaturdayRosehill Race 8, Iron Jack Hcp) Prime Candidate is out to protect an unbeaten second-up record.. The gelding drops in grade after running 4th behind Roheryn when resuming two weeks ago. I thought he was very good first-up. His work since his last run has stepped up a level, I think he is a very good horse and he looks fantastic. We will roll forward and I don’t think the wide gate is a negative at all.

Horse: He’s A Hotshot
Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race  9, Rosehill Bowling Club Hcp) He has a good gate and you have to forgive his first-up run, he was never comfortable (in the Heavy conditions) and since then he has trialled well and his work has been good.

Horse: Trumbull
Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 7, Winter Stakes) Trumbull snapped a frustrating run when he took out the Civic Stakes last start. He is coping really well. He has had eight starts this preparation but his work is brilliant and he’s holding his condition very well, so he’s a very happy horse.  Tommy got him out very well last start so hopefully he can do the same again on Saturday. He pulled up really bright and well after that and his work has been as good as ever.

From Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott

Horse: Talkomochi
Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 7, Winter Stakes) He’s a horse who improves throughout his preparation and obviously he’s going to be better suited once he can step out over further later in his campaign. But in saying that, he’s capable of running a nice race fresh. Taikomochi would gradually step up in distance during his preparation. We might be able to target races like the Wyong Cups and those sorts of races.

Horse: Ready To Prophet
Message: (Saturday, Rosehill Race 7, Winter Stakes) Ready To Prophet was well beaten in two Queensland starts but the mare has returned to Sydney in good shape to continue her winter campaign in a stakes race at Rosehill. A lot of mares do well up there in Queensland at that time of the year so it was an easy decision to push on with her and she trialled nicely at Randwick the other day. She probably just found the tracks up in Queensland a bit too firm for her liking. You go back to her run before she went up there, she ran a pretty bold race in the Dark Jewel at Rosehill at odds. She can be a bit inconsistent with her form but she’s capable of running a big race.
