The four-time Cox Plate winner was served by super sire I Am Invincible last season, but tragically lost her foal.
In a statement released on Wednesday, connections said she had recovered well from her ordeal and would head to the Coolmore stallion, who stands for $110,000.
“Winx has been given a full year to recover from her ordeal and we are pleased to report that the mare has returned in great condition,” the statement read.
“She has been enjoying life on the farm with some friends while she is preparing to go back to the breeding barn this spring.”
Pierro has sired six Group 1 winners, including champion Arcadia Queen, Pierata and Shadow Hero.
