Winners For This Saturday’s Randwick Meeting (6th Jan)

This Saturday’s Sydney meeting will be held at Royal Randwick (6th Jan). The course proper was rated a Good 4 on Thursday and with light drizzle over the next couple of days, Randwick will be racing on a Good track on raceday.

Perennial Highway winner Matthew Dunn has got I Am Good At This primed to run a big race in Saturday’s Highway Handicap (Sydney Race 1, 1600m). This 5YO gelding has been a model of consistency this preparation winning three times with a further four placings from eight starts. And he won with a leg up in the air by over five lengths last start at Murwillumbah. He also has quite a good record at the mile with two wins and a 2nd from three attempts. Nash Rawiller will go to the lead from the wide gate and I Am Good At This is the one they have to catch.

Top weight Terra Mater is looking to make it three wins on the trot by taking out the Bisley Workwear Handicap (Sydney Race 4, 1300m). This mighty consistent mare has never missed a place in her ten career starts including victories in her two runs this campaign at Canterbury and Randwick. Ready to step up to 1300m third-up and Nash Rawiller has won 2 from 2 on the 4YO. Without much pace in the race, Rawiller is likely to go forward and box seat in a coveting spot. Terra Mater will be ready to pounce rounding the home turn.

Lightly raced mare Running By will be third-up on Saturday and she is primed to peak by taking out the Precise Air Handicap (Sydney Race 5, 1500m). The 4YO has come back in terrific order this preparation finishing 2nd first up under 61kg over 1200m before she ran on hard when winning at Caulfield last start. She will be fitter again on Saturday and 1500m should suit. With reasonable pace in the race, Jason Collett should be able to slot in mid-field with cover and Running By will be full of running down the Randwick straight.
